1. There are many versions of
how old was the mother of Ceferino, Rosario Burgos. Raúl A.
Extraigas in his book "Mancebo de la tierra" (A Lad of the
Land), page 14, said that she was 18 years old in 1884, when
Manuel surrounded to the Argentinean army, therefore, when
Ceferino was born, she would be 20 years old. Professor
Larsen, cited by Entraigas in the same work, said that she
was 14 years old in 1884. José Orruma, when he interviewed
her in 1938, said that she was [at the time of the
interview], about 78 years old, Testimonies, second series,
page 23. We opted to give her 29 years old because on the
cross of her tumb there is an exact date: "In this place
there are the rests of Doña Rosario Burgos who passed away
at 86 years old on October 21, 1943". About Manuel, the
exact date has been established deducting it from his
wedding record registered in the San Miguel Parish according
with P.A. Stefenelli, book 1, page 58 and also to Adalberto
Clifton Godney in his work "The Cacique Namuncurá", page 64.
